IELTS Test Day Checklist — Everything You Need to Know

The Night Before

Prepare:

  • [ ] Valid passport ready (check expiry date!)

  • [ ] Test center address saved in phone

  • [ ] Route planned (account for traffic)

  • [ ] Clothes laid out (comfortable, layers)

  • [ ] Alarm set (30 minutes earlier than you think)
  • Do:

  • [ ] Sleep 7-8 hours (most important!)

  • [ ] Eat light dinner

  • [ ] No studying (your brain needs rest)
  • Don't:

  • [ ] Study new material

  • [ ] Drink coffee or energy drinks

  • [ ] Stay up late
  • Morning of the Exam

    Before leaving:

  • [ ] Light breakfast (banana, toast, water)

  • [ ] Use the bathroom

  • [ ] Check: passport, confirmation email

  • [ ] Leave 30 minutes early
  • At the test center:

  • [ ] Arrive 15-20 minutes early

  • [ ] Use the bathroom before the test starts

  • [ ] Deep breathing: inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4
  • During the Test
